The Immunization Task Force of Metro Omaha serves the Metro Omaha area, which includes Douglas, Dodge, Sarpy, and Washington Counties in Nebraska and Pottawattamie County in Iowa. The mission of the task force is to fulfill the Metro Omaha Community's interest in ensuring immunization levels that will eliminate vaccine preventable diseases. In order to accomplish this the Task Force has several goals it hopes to meet:
Professional Liason Committee: The goals of this committee are to inform physicians about the Standards for Immunization and to focuson professional education. Community Liason Committee: The goals of this committee are to improve the number of opportunities to immunize by community education and identify and reduce barriers to immunization. Focus is placed on public awareness, service delivery, and community outreach. Information Systems Committee: The goals of this committee are to implement a community computerized immunization record keeping, tracking and recall system; promote the regular assessment of patient immunization rates by providers; and monitor immunization types and frequency in the community. Legislative Committee: The goals of the committee are to educate legislators regarding needs surrounding immunization issues and make policy recommendations. The Steering Committee: The responsibilities of the Steering Committee include: strategic planning, public relations, funding, resource allocation, forming community partnerships and coordinating committee activities. The Stering Committee shall act for the Task Force between quarterly meetings of the Immunization Task Force-Metro Omaha. |
